Content Policy

1. Our Commitment

BrandTea exists to give creators honest, accurate information about brand deals so they can negotiate fairly and avoid bad partnerships. Our content policy protects both creators and brands by ensuring reviews are fair, honest, grounded in real experiences, and useful to the community.

This policy applies to all user-submitted content on BrandTea, including reviews, ratings, rate information, red flag reports, and any other submissions. Violations may result in content removal, restriction of submission privileges, or other enforcement action.

2. What Is Allowed

BrandTea welcomes content that helps creators make informed decisions. Allowed content includes:

  • Honest reviews based on real brand deals you personally participated in, including paid partnerships, gifted products with posting obligations, and agency-mediated campaigns.
  • Factual descriptions of your experience, including communication quality, payment timelines, contract terms, deliverable expectations, and deliverable approval processes.
  • Opinions clearly framed as personal experience, such as "In my experience..." or "I felt that..." rather than unsupported factual accusations.
  • Red flag reports based on events that actually happened to you, including late payment, scope creep, ghosting, or contract issues.
  • Rate information from real deals you were offered, negotiated, or accepted, including usage rights and exclusivity terms when relevant.

3. What Is Not Allowed

To protect the integrity of the Platform, the following content is prohibited:

  • Reviews of brands or agencies you have not personally worked with or engaged in a professional capacity.
  • False statements presented as facts, including fabricated payment amounts, invented contract terms, or events that did not occur.
  • Reviews submitted for compensation, incentives, or at the request of a competitor seeking to harm a brand's reputation.
  • Personal attacks on individual employees, contractors, or representatives. Review the brand or agency as an organization, not private individuals.
  • Hate speech, discrimination, slurs, or content that demeans individuals or groups based on protected characteristics.
  • Content that violates any applicable local, state, national, or international law.
  • Reviews designed to artificially manipulate a brand's rating, visibility, or reputation through coordinated or inauthentic activity.
  • Sharing confidential information covered by a valid Non-Disclosure Agreement or other contractual confidentiality obligation.

4. NDA Notice

If you signed a Non-Disclosure Agreement ("NDA") or similar confidentiality agreement with a brand or agency, you are solely responsible for ensuring your review does not violate that agreement. BrandTea is not liable for NDA violations or other contractual breaches by users.

When in doubt, keep your review focused on factual rate information and general professional experience rather than confidential creative briefs, unreleased campaign details, or proprietary business information.

5. How We Moderate

BrandTea uses a combination of community and manual moderation:

  • Community flagging: any user may report a review they believe violates this policy.
  • Auto-hold: reviews that receive five or more flags are automatically hidden from public view pending manual review.
  • Manual review: our team reviews flagged content and aims to complete initial review within 48 hours.
  • Brand reports: brands may report profiles or reviews they believe are inaccurate or violate policy. Reports are evaluated under this policy, not based on whether a brand disagrees with a negative review.
  • We never remove reviews simply because a brand disagrees with them. Disagreement with opinion or negative feedback is not grounds for removal.

6. Brand Dispute Process

If you are a brand and believe a review about you is false or violates this Content Policy, follow these steps:

  • Click "Report this review" on the review in question.
  • Select the reason for your report from the available options.
  • Email hello@brandtea.app with additional details, including links, context, and any supporting documentation.
  • We will review your report within 48 hours.
  • If we find a policy violation, we will remove or restrict the content.
  • If we do not find a policy violation, the review will remain published. Disagreeing with a review is not grounds for removal.

7. Legal Requests

We comply with valid legal process, including subpoenas, court orders, and other lawful requests for information. We aim to respond to legal requests within 72 hours. Contact: hello@brandtea.app.

8. Appeals

If your review was removed and you believe this was an error, email hello@brandtea.app with "Content Appeal" in the subject line. Include the brand or agency name, the date of submission, and a brief explanation of why you believe the removal was incorrect. We will review appeals within 5 business days and notify you of our decision.
